Yes. I live at the beach and I've been in multiple times. I'm just careful if there are really rough waves.

No problem swimming in beaches I don't think @ngujen BUT you might do some research because I've heard recently they tested the area down there in Texas and it had bad bacteria, So much so it's made a couple kids sick. I don't remember the whole story but might be something to look into before doing it.
