here's the story behind my recent posts: im a nurse aide on a cardiac floor at the local hospital. late Saturday night helped a nurse stand amd toilet a patient. he stood up okay but then for whatever reason leaned into my belly with all 300# and stayed there for a minute. knocked the wind outta me and baby didnt move for a while and I had bad pains. called doc he had me go to er for ultrasound and bloodwork then ob for nst. baby's heartrate was a lil lower than normal and she wasnt moving much but they said she is just stressed from the trauma. me on the other hand I am bruised internally from.breastbone to waist and have bruised ribs. this sucks. im constantly in pain had to go to er twice for testing but hey baby is fine.

why would a nurse have u help her do that lifting knowing your pregnant ?? she should of called someone else for help

@dnhmommy3, that sucks. I'm a RN in the ICU and my colleagues and aides don't let me do anything physical with patient. And I also let them know I ain't doing anything physical with patients or else I would get a dr note. Thankfully things have been great and also my job is not a physical one either. But be careful. We had an aide had a miscarriage at 5 months.

Yea its hurts like h*** @riarn0406 we are extremely short staffed and even though ive said the same thing as you im usually told that the patients come first

Yea but your child comes first. I don't play. I would rather go out in LOA or FMLA. Speak to your manager
