I don't live the same place as he does. I'm also thinking of changing my name. For the sake of my child I'll do anything to protect him/her. This dude is starting to scare me, idk what he is capable of. He is a punk but stll you never know.

I have a protection order against an ex, but I do know with those they have the right to argue the case and try to not have one put against them, and to make you testify. I'm pretty sure the same goes for the restraining order. So get all the evidence you have and take it with you when you go file they will want to see it and want you to take it with you to court.

@ak16, that's what I have. I was told a restraining order and order of protection is the same thing. I have lots of evidence! He played himself to many times. I filed the order in a different state so I think he has to come here to combat it.

Oh they are not idk who told you that. A protection order gives you no protection until it's granted, and it's where the person can't come within 500ft of home, school, or work, and can't get a firearm, or do things to embarrass you... A restraining order gives you some protection right then, and it continues if it's granted and the person can't come within so many feet of your body. No matter where you are. But yes you go to court in whatever county you file for it in

That's crazy idk why he would tell you that, you can show the previous stuff to the place you go file and they can use it against him and proof that he might do it again, has he put his hands on you before? Or have you ever filed a police report about any of it, if so that helps a lot and you pretty much automatically get it granted. My ex choked me, and the lawyer they gave me get it granted super fast, and they make the defendant pay the fees, and make them go to counseling, least that's what they made him do here

@ak16, he never hit me. He wouldn't dare. He said my child isn't his because I supposedly cheated on him lol. But he is really crazy so idk what he can do...

I did my first pregnancy caused me to loose baby ! I took him off eventually because he wld eventually have to c his child
