I'm so stressed been trying to get into a obg for more than a month .. I'm 14 weeks pregnant and still haven't had any prenatal care. only reason why I know how far along I am is because of my visit in the e.r . finally got to see a dr. today and they weren't unable to give me a referral to see an OBG ... I seriously just want to cry . they have me going back and forth talking to my insuranc e which is tri care prime. (military spouse) and they keep telling me that my insurance needs to give me a referral and my insurance keeps telling me NO.my Dr is the one that needs to give me the referral. I spend over 4 hrs on the phone and nothing got solve .

Have your insurance call the doctor and work this out !

your doctor sends the referral in to Tricare so that you can go and see an OBGYN. I'm in the military myself and your PCP has to send the referral in..inbox me if you need help with anything

that's what I keep telling them and they keep saying no that tricare is not letting them and tricare keeps telling me that they don't see anything in the system or any attempt of the dr. even putting a referral. @briandavisjr819

@myramercado yes they have to send in the referral once the referral is sent Tricare will send you a letter well health net letting you know that you received a referral from your PCP for that particular OBGYN. they will also send a letter to the OBGYN as well letting them know. that office is being lazy bc Tricare will not call them at all. I was going to my OBGYN for one thing and once I became pregnant my PCP had to send another referral to Tricare to let them know I was going there for a pregnancy. it's crazy how we have to have a referral for everything.

@myramercado and you can go to tricare.mil and show them that they have to send the referral in

i didnt get in for my 1st appt until 15.5 weeks. i knew how far i was by ER visit at 6 weeks as well. everything will work out! continue being persistent girl!
