I am so very stuck between a rock and a hard place! I dont know what I should do! I was advised in May to go out on leave by August 1st (im due Oct 6th). I am not high risk pregnancy, baby is fine but I have vascular problems in my right leg. The time is approaching, and I still feel okay enough to work. My husband and I have been busting our asses for the past couple months for the purchase of our new house which closes on the 30th... This month I put off paying all my bills and put them off until next month, to make sure we had enough $$ for our down payment and closing costs... I will recieve disability insurance once im out, but that could take 4-6 weeks. Thats 4-6 weeks with NO paycheck, and a new mortgage of $1700 a month. . There is no way my husband could swing the mortgage and all the bills I put off... So I was going to work a few more weeks to get a bit ahead, I told my husband today and he is PISSED at me! but I explained to him why, and I told him to give me an answer if what we should do and he hasn't! He definitely does not want me to work and hurt myself, but he also knows we are going to be drowning in debt!

@littlematthewjoseph, that's a long time to be out. Did the dr say you need to be off your feet so early before your due date? With my hospital they give you 6 weeks maternity leave for vaginal birth and 8 weeks for c section. So depending on what I get I plan on taking my vacation which I have at least 4 weeks in addition to personal and holiday time and the rest plan on doing FMLA which we get another 8 weeks. Or I can go out on sick leave and get note from dr and stay out another couple weeks. Wanna be home at least 4-6 months. But I would work until medically so.

@riarn0406, I was medically advised to go out and May, I just keep pushing it and pushing it, honestly I don't think they're going to let me push anymore.. The rare vascular condition I was born with cant handle the extra blood. My right leg is so bad Im starting to lose circulation. When I was pregnant with my son, I couldn't walk anymore at 20 weeks. Even when im not pregnant I wear compression stockings specially made that are 40-50 to promote blood flow. I've put some serious thought into it.. I love being a nurse and if I don't listen, I could sacrifice losing my right leg and never being a nurse again... l Ive put though got a pretty good union job, could take out up to six months and they still have to hold my position.
