Just make sure they don't ever sleep with the baby. Because they can smother your baby. :) It also depends on the personality of the cat. My old cat hated to be picked up and scratched you if you stroked him for too long. I now have a cat that also hates to be picked up. He will happily come and sit on your lap. But he does tend to randomly pounce on people. I definitely won't let the cat near my baby until he/she is a bit older. It's a personal choice. Also you need a cat that doesn't mind being pulled about by a small child. Make sure you get someone else to do the litter tray or wear gloves. The poo is especially harmful to pregnant women. You definitely don't want your baby playing in a litter tray. Like @oweatherby said :) Get your kitten checked for Toxoplasmosis. The worms/maggots/bacteria live in the poo. As for the kitten being hyper. Mine was like that :) then we got him neutered. He was still crazy after that but he's calmed down a bit now. He's now over a year old.
I have two kittens right now..they will be 7 months when baby will be born)
it's absolutely fine, hun... just check your kitten for toxoplasmosis, its very important) and don't leave kitten with baby alone, just in case for she/he doesn't scratch a baby) but you will have to introduce baby to cat and they will be alright xxx
aw thanks that's great my kittens a bit hypo he will be about 10 months when I have my baby will he still be like this?
