Do you have to wait until the belly button is completely healed to fully bathe your baby? He's 7days old, cord fell off this morning and it looks like theres some gunk in there still.. should I just sponge bathe him for now?

they told me once it falls off i can bath my daughter but it took like 2 weeks to come off.

I was told I could give my baby a regular bath even with the cord on. so I did. and nothing happened to my daughter's..I'd say you're fine to

I cleaned my son's with neosporin & a qtip
