She's 42 like why did she wait allll the way until now. I'll be 23 when she has her baby so that's a huge age difference between us. I feel bad because I'm not exactly excited about it and I know I'm gonna be asked at my baby shower if I am @nichole8790

it would be hard anyway with you being pregnant for the first time you won't everyone to be excited for you and for your baby but now I don't know if you feel this way but I would feel like ppl would be focused on her and her baby not me and my first baby.

No that's how I feel @nichole8790 I mean I don't want anything to happen to her or the baby considering her age and health issues but I don't see how this happens at the same time. I think I'm more mad about the fact that this baby will grow up in a bad environment. I love my mom but she's not responsible and relies on everyone else. When I lived at home I went months with water being turned on or electricity and always had to eat at my bf house (husband now). Also that house has been almost condemned multiple times. It's such a shame and I feel bad for this baby

oh wow. my mom was the same with us while growing up except she also had a drug problem. my best advice is to be there for the baby as much as you can because only you will really know what the baby is going threw because you were there once.

I don't live in my hometown anymore so I don't see my family. I'm in Italy until 2017 then I'll move hopefully back to the states @nichole8790 so I just hope my mom gets her stuff together

I totally understand where you are coming from. I was my moms youngest at 23 and she was in her 40s. She had a son exactly one year and a week before me. I felt and to this day still feel like she is in competition with me. She is a good grandmother but she has drug problems and also I feel like my son got kinda short changed because she also had a son to raise. I'm so glad this isn't happening this time around

@cwilly, it's crazy! I feel like once I told her I was pregnant she went out and tried too. It's just sad that it seems like a competition when it really shouldn't be. I feel my daughter will be short handed also because now my mom will have her own. I won't allow my daughter at her house though until it's in much better shape. I don't want my baby exposed to harmful smells or mold.
