I know someone who fell asleep with baby in arms the baby fell off the bed and was unconscious baby is now suffering from all kinds of things. I wouldn't risk it.
Do you want to co sleep? You should look up "side car crib" it gives baby their own protected space while still being next to momma so you don't have to fully wake up to breast feed or comfort baby if you need to.

Also when baby comes you'll be so much more aware with the way you sleep. It's the motherly instinct!
