Same here. My oldest just turned 9 and has ADHD as well. In order for me to take a nap I have to let him play x box or something to keep him busy. My other 2 kids sometimes try to run out of the house and go to my mothers since she lives 5 houses down, but I bribe them with Xbox too. It sucks cause when Im seriously crashing sometimes I have to make sure they aren't getting into anything. My man works two jobs so typically it's just me!

It'll get better. As they get older it get's better well at least in my experience. My son was diagnosed at 4.5 y/o, but with medication and close work it has gotten alot better.

@bradsmom711, thanks! its nice to hear someone in the same situation. I sure hope it gets better, after 4 years we still haven't figured out the right meds because his is so severe, so we are still in that process as well. Mine plays ps3 by it only holds him go so long so I cant even try to nap! My man works 1 job but has not grasp the concept of what is going on with my son (He's not the dad) he just thinks he is hyper and mouthy so I don't even want to leave them al ok ne together until he awww better understanding

My son has ADHD and odd and he is 8.... It had been a hard road with him but with counseling and the right medication he is doing a lot better... He still has his bad days tho but it's gotten a lot better

Girl I feel you . My son is 9 with ADHD as well . I have to get up when he gets up or my house is a mess . Lol .

It took us about 3 years to get the right medicine but as you know with odd there is no medicine for that so I would suggest counseling it had helped us a ton.

My son is on concerta 54mg . His ADHD is severe as well . But lately it's not working as well . So I'm looking into other medication options .

@sarabrewer04, thank you, I did have him in counseling and it didn't do a thing to help the ODD, that's our biggest struggle.ODD sure is hard to deal with! @elenaj oh yeah! in my house it wouldn't only be a mess but I cant promise he would even be IN the house if. I didn't wake up with him, my son is also on. 54 of Concerta and 10 in the afternoon but its not doing a whole lot, but most of the time its his ODD that is way worse then the ADHD

@elenaj, well its called Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Mixed with his ADHD he is very defiant, but doesn't have the mentality to think about what he is doing before he says or does anything. The ODD paet of him will do things to get a bad reaction, do things he knows will push your buttons, kind of hard to explain, google might help better. Usually it turns it to conduct disorder and they have trouble with the law later in life

Lawd sounds just like my son . When he's on his medicine , he's obedient and nice but when he's not , omg ! I get so frustrated .

He's been putting clothes in the bag for like 35 min . I have to sit here with him to make sure he does the task at hand .

@elenaj, see even on his meds my son is very defiant, there is no medication for ODD, on his ADHD pills it brings his hyper down and he can concentrate better, be he cant help the deviant part

Dang . I know you struggle . My son is a handful as well . I understand . He has some other issues as well . I'm getting him evaluated this week . I think he is dual diagnose .

@elenaj, They actually say a lot of kids with ADHD usually have multiple diagnoses, Good luck!
