I've heard so many different things about crib bumpers. I have some on my daughter's crib now but should I take them off? I've heard they are a suffocation hazard but I also can't stand the thought of her little arms or legs getting stuck in between the bars on the crib without the bumper pads... idk what to do and she will be here in just a few weeks.

I hear the same thing like which is the right thing?? we did put on our registry the bumper w the netting so even if they do get their face against it they can breathe thru it

They're a hazard if you put baby too close to them. If you're putting her in the middle and she doesn't roll around there's no issue. If she can roll over both ways then the likely hood of her getting stuck and suffocating is minimal.

mine don't have the netting but they are pretty thin! I'm just scared to use them because I've heard they contribute to SIDS because they cause babies to suffocate. But then other poeple have said it is fine and keeps them from getting hung in the crib bars at night. Idk which to listen to. @livd15

@raelynnsmommy they do contribute to SIDS if their face get to close to it the baby can't breathe....I had the mesh one with my first and I have the mesh one with my second....they make the mesh in all colors so they can go with you colors scheme....you don't need the bumper until the baby starts rolling over...

ya I dont like the bar thing either. I got a crib that has solid panels on all but front just for that reason hahah . it should be fine but if ur still worried get the one that looks like netting just to be safe
