I tried breastfeeding but It was not for me at all. formula gives them everything they need. even her dr said it's so very similar to breast milk anyways.
Whatever works for you and the baby. I'm a breastfeeding mom 100%, but it is very demanding just like @boymama said. It literally takes all your energy out of you! And yep formula is expensive as hell. I know people who do half BF and half formula and it works pretty well.
With my first son I was all for it once I had him I tried for a day to breastfeed him (I found out that he swallowed quite a lot of fluid which was making him seem full) but the nurses gave me a hard time about it and I decided to bottle feed instead. When I had my daughter I tried again to breastfeed and she latched on and I was able to breastfeed her for 3 days but once we came home no go so for this pregnancy I decided not to try and go straight to formula
My personal opinion: breast is best. I did it for a year and plan to do it again! And I'm not a SAHM, so it can be done (assuming your body allows, anyways.) I surely don't judge anyone else's opinion, but I couldn't feel okay with giving my babies formula if there's a choice.
I think it's a personal choice based on myriad factors. I hate that breastfeeding has become a platform for women to judge and shame one another. I know there are benefits to both, and a mother's decision is hers alone to make. Ultimately, the only thing that makes is baby getting fed and continuing to thrive- not the method in which that is achieved.

My mother recommended to me to at least breastfeed for 4-6 weeks at least in the beginning IF I can... Not everyone can though its difficult
