does anybody know anything about custody? the father of my 2 oldest kids broke up 2years ago and when we were together we went to court agreed on joint custody sense we lived together now that we obviously don't I'm with somebody else and having another child I was wondering where does that leave us for custody? we never made a set schedule in court at all I am primary parent because they live with me,he was supposed to tell the courts if he were to move out and never did... where does this leave the custody can I get in trouble for keeping them with me as he has been mean and has threatened to physically harm me or have others? I'm not keeping them to be mean he doesn't use carseat properly he will throw it in the car and strap the my three year old in he drives drunk and think because he does good its fine,he won't pay child support when asked to because it will destroy him not through court and is just flat out mean and disrespectful and I don't want my sons turning out like him their step dad is a very good role model and teaches them respect and manner unlike their dad there's so much more but to much to write any advice I do plan on maybe taking him to court after I'm back and school and working so he can't try to make me look bad and my dad has been helping financially with them sense they were born they are 3-7....

But like I was saying earlier if they are on Medicaid. Call your Medicaid number and ask them if they can help you because that's how I got my daughters and it was all free and only took two appointments

I live in Wisconsin,and yes I believe their on medicaid, my dad wanted to pay a lawyer but I didn't feel he'd get Me what I asked when we met with him he was good ng to go for back pay for my dad and I sense my dad is my oldest guardian and every other weekend ,
Do your kids get Medicaid? If so the attorney office generally works with Medicaid. Lawyers are more expensive must of the times and no you have to go to a custody lawyer. What state do you live in I can look some stuff up if you want

Ok if you have no papers then generally you have equal custody, which in most cases means either parents can "keep the kids" from the other until court papers... So I would do supervised visits until you get papers to be safe. At the attorney general office you can generally get an appt and they will tell you how much child support you will receive and then give him 1,3,5 weekend , and you can chose back child support or to not press for that.
@ftm0903, I'll give that a try I tried before but he couldn't tell me right off hand or look it up even he wanted to just do court from there maybe I will go with somebody else ,is there away to even look it up yourself?
@ak16, no we left with no papers at all the court date was really for paternity which he denied ,and we both agreed to joint sense we lived together and that was it now that we don't iv been told that that mean I have primary and sense he didn't tell the courts he left the home which they said to if him or I leave I'm still wondering where that leave this custody situation?
@mrsmoore, I'd still go and talk to someone and figure out what the laws are for your state and see about getting things figured out and maybe even changing what you have in place already.
