you can also go to a fire department and find out when they are doing car seat checks. they will help you install it so it is safe: )

I would check with the hospital first nut the instructions should be on the booklet on the proper way to install it.

@eskawho, oh awesome! yea the car seat doesn't fit in my car with the base n i was wondering since i know they are going to do an inspection at the hospital if it was fine without it.

I'm in wa state...not sure on the law but I know a newborn car seat can be installed with out one...personally I like the base. it's easy to put in and the seat just clicks in and out super fast.
