How long does a Fetal Non-Stress Test (NST) take when you go to the hospital just for that?

depends, i think they've been keeping me like an hr, partially due to all the contractions they pick up.

I have to go because of my bp which I'm on meds for. and I don't want to get in that hospital gown. I just wanna get the tests done and over with

I dont think they make you get in a hospital gown! They have me pee, lay down, pull up my shirt and hook me up! Honestly its not that bad. You just lay and relax while hearing babies heartbeat. Watch tv or play on ur phone.

I go 2x a week, Tuesdays and Fridays and am actually at mine right now. it takes about 20ish minutes and you don't have to put on a gown they just put monitors on you.

@laducerfamily, @mariceladez I sure hope so. the last time they made me get in a gown and put me on iv and everything because my bp was high and she wanted me to get an ultrasound done and the nst. ughhh

I go once a week and get both an nst and ultrasound and its really not too bad. I think it'll be OK for u as well. Plus, you gt to make sure baby is good.

if they're having you go twice a week then you'll get an ultrasound 1x a week to check baby's fluid levels. and you won't go to l&d for nsts you'll go to the antenatal testing unit.

I just had my first NST today. I go twice a week till delivery due to baby measuring small. They did pee test, blood pressure and weights. then they just had me lay down they put the readers on me one to monitor babys heart rate one to monitor mine they gave me a button to push everytime the baby moved it took 20 mins. it depends on how acrive baby is at your appointment depending on how long you have to stay the shortest is 20mins longest and hour. Its easy just gets a little boring! lol

@mariceladez, I have to go once a week. but I'm having the biophysical profile done at the maternal fetal medicine drs office since I have to go anyway. I'm gonna call the hospital I guess. But I really don't want to sit in l&d. I hate the hospital I really do.
