@valerie_jean, this girl is like ripping me apart because, in her eyes, formula is practically poison! Obviously, it's NOT. I just don't think it's fair of her to tell me off when she's eating fast food three times a week.

Just tell her to shut up and keep her opinions to herself. Nothing wrong with formula feeding, I don't regret it. Anybody can feed my son, it gives me more freedom, I don't have a baby attached to my boob and I don't have to pump every hour. Only thing I regret is not trying breastfeeding.

@jennatess, this girl seems kind of clue less. She does realize that everything she eats is passed through her milk right? If she eating crap her baby is getting crap. I have two friends whose babies where lactose intolerant and since baby couldn't have milk that meant they couldn't eat or drink any dairy! It's a choice and there is no right answer you do what's best for mom and baby!

I hate how I had so many woman tell me formula isn't going to give my babies the right nutrition and that breastfeed babies are smarter....I'm sorry but I disagree. my 3 year old knows how to count to 20 and knows what the numbers are knows all the letters in the alphabet she can write her own name and she can say complete sentences and knows words that I don't think I would of known at her age and uses them in the proper way. so feeding formula to your babies is just fine! breast feeding isn't for anyone and don't let them get you upset about it!

@courtney_boyea, I think the whole "smarter" thing is silly as well. Kids are as smart as you, as a parent, teach them to be. I do believe there are amazing health benefits for breast feeding, but like you said, it's not for everyone! My doctor said to me today, "Don't worry about it! Your baby is going to be a healthy 8lb + child. Formula is going to do her just right!". So many people are so judgmental.

exactly! people are so easy to judge too there could be other issues as to why you can't breastfeed

@courtney_boyea, my friend and her girlfriend adopted a little boy a couple years back, and she told me that one time it was just her and her baby boy out at a movie theater sitting in the lobby waiting for her girlfriend to arrive so they could see a movie. Apparently she was sitting on a bench, bottle feeding her son, and an older lady walked up, and said, "What do you think you're doing? That poor child. You need to breastfeed!" She said she calmly looked up and said, "well, even though both me, and my lesbian girlfriend can't breast feed because this 'poor child' was adopted, we thank you for your concern." She said the lady looked like someone had shot her! Hahaha. Like, come on! Why is it anyone's place to step in and comment on how a child is fed. As long as they are healthy, it shouldn't matter!

It's usually those same people who give you crap about formula feeding your child that also give you crap about breast feeding in public. people are just ridiculous and you can't please them.
