Okay mommies I am in need of help/advice: my little girl is 14 weeks and per the drs she needs to be on this iron supplement (takes 1 once day). when she poops it's always hard and she just screams. when I asked the doc about it he said to dilute her formula a little for a couple of weeks. we are just making it through week 1 and I feel so bad that she has to go through this pain. last night she actually woke up screaming at 330 because she was pooping. (normally she can sleep for 7-8 hrs). should I wait it out or should I call the dr again?

My doctor recommended Karo syrup the light kind just to put in her milk and it worked just fine. Maybe a tea spoon or so

diluting formula isn't supposed to be recommended.... that doctor clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. maybe he should lower the dosage of iron she takes a day. but you could always try prun juice.

We used dark kyro syrup one tablespoon for every 4 oz of formula we did this twice a day and he finally went he felt so much better! Granted this was awhile ago but I hope she feels better
