I'm due in November. I want to start shopping but I keep hearing from a lot of people to not buy certain things cause it will go to waste or I'll end up getting doubles at my shower. But what are things you moms recommend me buying?

I agree with @mimibaby the big stuff is what you should buy and maybe a few articles of clothing that you really like and maybe a blanket or two. Because clothes and blankets are the # 1 thing people are gonna get you.

when I had my first child, I started buying all the big items early. because more than likely I didn't expect anyone to buy them in registry. like car seat, stroller, crib, playpen. bedding, breast pump....

I got everything at my shower besides a stroller , carseat, and diaper bag.
