the hospital usually has diapers, wipes, pacifier and I forgot what else. you can just bring shampoo & conditioner for you, 2 sets of outfits for your baby cause they can have an accident, loose clothes line sweats and a T-shirt. your cell phone charger, snacks for you, your prenatal vitamins...
necessary depends on what ur hospital doesn't supply and what you want the baby to wear. its easier for the t-shirt the first day when they're checking on the baby..

I've been going by this list , I packed diapers and wipes anyways . I know the hospital will provide them.
