Ok so this may be a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyways.....What does it mean when your baby's car seat expire?

I believe it's for undated safety systems?

It usually means that there are newer models that are safer made that are better to use! My daughters was expired by the time I had my son (it was gender neutral) and I just went and bought a newer one. You can find some people who are selling them for cheap whose babies aren't that old so they won't be expired

Ok thank you ladies that's what I thought @doodiemo @k_nicole89 yeah my sons expires after this month it was given to me and it still.looked brand new and my husbands cousin gave me the one she used for her son and it is only like a 2 yrs old.

Yeh, but to be honest I don't know why they put those anymore unless they come out with an iSeat because I haven't seen a change in a lot of them over the years of babies in my family. Lol

where is the expiration date in yours ?

Lol I know there has been like a slight change in them in 11 years cause my cousins had babies at a young age so I grew up with them and I see a little difference from then and know @doodiemo

The base has a expiration in the groove where it locks in the car seat and base. and on his car seat it is underneath the front part of his car seat @alicia3_21

lol your welcome yeah I have had to double check cause I looked at it before he was born then a few months ago I couldn't remember so I had to check again. I'm just glad I kept the back up so I didn't have to find him another one in a rush @alicia3_21

Not only is there new safety codes, over time with sitting in a hot car or stored in a warm place the plastic can start to warp or not be as strong and the carseat would no longer be safe.
