it like plugs up your cervix. stop from infection getting in there and stuff... when you lose it it means your bodys getting ready for labor, your cervix can start opening and dilating more. at least thats how theyve explained it to me

after I lost my plug I started to dilate fast but then 3 days later my water broke and I got to hospital and was only dilated to a 2
