I worry about this too!!! I have a little less than 5 lb chihuahua and she is glued to me! Everyone keeps saying I'm gonna have troubles with her when baby comes with her being jealous. I just hope not. She's my little love 🎀🐶💕

My boyfriend has had this dog for like, 6 or 7 years. He's a sweet dog but once I got really pregnant the dog nipped at me I told him he had to get rid of the dog or I wasn't going to let the baby stay there cause I think the dog got jealous or something. I wasn't going to risk it !!!

I have an 8 year old pitbull and it's also been me and her for 8 years. Instead she's become very overprotective of me. However, I am still a little apprehensive of when my baby comes. My parents always bug me about this issue, but I mean common sense should tell u never to leave ur dog and baby alone. Ur child should always be supervised and in a safe place away from ur pet. One thing that worked for my brother when he had his baby and that I've heard from other ppl with pets is to bring ur baby's blanket from the hospital before u and u baby come home and let ur pet sniff it and become familiar with the smell. Also when u introduce ur pet to the baby make it a pleasurable and rewarding experience. Everything takes time and patience wth pets. Good luck!☺️

animals know When your pregnant

its too hot to keep them outside so hopefully we wont have a major issue. i had been reading about how to introduce them to each other, and of course they will always be supervised. i just dont want the dog depressed or the baby hurt you know? im hoping for the best! thanks for all the input ladies! @shortizzie @kibella22

She's more protective of you because you're pregnant with baby. She's gonna love baby like her own pup, she's going to protect baby just like she's protecting you. 😊🐶

That's how my dog is. She's super friendly and lovable to everyone and everything but now that I'm pregnant she nips and bites and gets super protective. It's just an instinct, she knows your carrying something precious (you're her human) just likes she's your dog so she wants to stay by you and make sure you guys are safe.

But if you're really unsure then just take baby steps with introducing them, she'll warm up.

Yea I know what you mean, that's how I feel too. It's always been me and my dog. And I don't want her to get depressed Bc we won't be able to spend the same amount of time walking or jogging or napping together lol. But the way I look at it which makes me feel better is that I'm staying positive on the idea that my dog will love my baby the same way she loves me and vice versa. It's deff going to be a process but I really do hope the best for you.
