teaspoon of yellow mustard helps or warm water with baking soda. both taste nasty but only thing that works for me

try taking Zantac. it helped me alot. my dr is the one who told me to take it.

Is that an otc med or will she have to prescribe it? I've never had heartburn before in my life lol @katiesolger

Yes it's over the counter. you can buy it anywhere pretty much. you just take one a day and I swear it helps. I never got heart burn till I became pregnant too. milk helps too and laying on your side. also try to cut back on foods with a lot of acid in them.

Dr may prescribe something like Zantac, Prilosec, or nexium. They're all otc. My dr told me to lay on my left side and don't lay down for an hour after eating. Nothing works for me so I took nexium for a few days when it was really bad. I'm only in my first trimester so I don't wanna take it every day but I couldn't handle it anymore, and I looked it up and it was a class b medication when Tylenol is a class c and they tell you to take that whenever!! So I figured it'd be ok for a few days every now and then.
