Ladies! Really need your help!!! Who has had or is having the whooping cough vaccination and why? and who hasn't had or isn't having the vaccination and why? Trying to make my own decision on it and any advice or opinion will be welcomed :) xx
I had it - was advised not to at birth due to epilepsy in the family background, but my nurse said further research proved different & I wanted to protect my baby. - no negative side affects x
I had mine, whooping cough is on the increase and killing lots of babies, I had it when I was born and was very ill so had it, I never had the flu jab but felt this one was more important x
my midwife advised that I research it and there are many debates both for and against it online, I'm trying to understand people's opinions and reasons for both for and against before I make the decision myself @charlie1510
Had mine at 29 weeks, I felt it was in my best interest and babies to get it done. I did my research online and spoke to my midwife about it, a certain percent (can't remember how many sorry) of newborns die from whooping cough, it's on the rise which is why the NHS are now putting the money in to getting the vaccinations. The vaccine pases the placenta and protects the baby until they have their own jab at about 6 weeks. Do your own research and don't let anyone force you in to doing something you might or might not want to do! X
I'm 28 weeks now... my midwife pre warned me at my last appointment that she will be offering it at my 28 week appointment tomorrow, I think it's offered between 28 and 32 weeks... @tori27
I had it when my old daughter was born along with my husband and my babysitter the doctor told me that it is better to have whoever is going to have a lot of contact with the newborn to get the shot to be on the safe side I seen the commercials before had and from the information that I gathered the baby when coughing can't breath good so I got it right away
I will be getting this shot as soon as I can.x
