Let me start off by saying that this is not about being pregnant and I have tried to keep my mouth shut but I needed a place where I wouldn't be put down or attacked. I am just saying my beliefs. I fully support gays (my baby brother is bi), I always and very supportive in equal rights and agree that if it does not concern you it is not your business. However this picture makes me mad. I understand the struggle to get this far in history and the loses that have happened because of this. But gay marriage is NEVER going to amount up to the war. John Bradley IS my family through marriage and from the stories passed down he had a bad case of PTSD and had half his calf missing due to a grenade shard. To my family this is disrespectful. To my military family this should not be compared to gay marriage, no matter how amazing and huge it is. Please celebrate. be happy. Marry who you want! Love who you want! but please don't make this something it's not.
Please do not take offense to this post. if anyone is offended please let me know and I will happily take it down. I just needed an outlet.

i actually agree with you about this post in many ways but im not offended at all because to them it was like a war. i think everyone has their opinion so i respect what you feel but i dont find it offensive because to gays/lesbians this was a genuine feeling for them... don't get me wrong cause my whole family is ARMY... BUT again i think for them it was a very deep war within themselves & their country...so does it bother me no and i also don't think it was meant to be compared to this famous picture i think its symbolizing equality.mm

I agree that this WAS a personal war. 100% agree with that! and I am so happy that the government finally took their heads out of their asses and decided to let people practice their rights. But yes it should not have been compared. Fly your flag high, I'll fly it with you, but don't try to compare it to something just as or more important.

right i agree.. if this is meant to be compared to the struggles of war than yeah it isnt on the same level now of its the struggle of equality i can understand... they need to just remove the bottom half

agreed. this wasn't a war against other countries and such it was about getting equality.

I agree with you. I'm in the army and while I'm so happy and supportive that gay marriage is legal, especially since I'm bisexual, it isn't the same as war. I know it was a struggle to get this right, but it isn't comparable to war in my mind.
