@dcwilson15, IV meds get to the baby a little bit thru the blood stream but the epidural doesn't get to baby's blood at all and has no effect on him/her. It's just a spinal thing for mom. But if you don't want meds at all that's completely your choice obviously but I promise you pitocin is not a game. Works in 10 min or less
I'm not worried about the pain I've had active contractions already and I can deal with that & no epidural for me I don't care for the effects it has on mother's and infants but thanks for your advice @karnawest @wyattsmommy91
@arielle Is right pitcon makes your contractions 3 times strong which makes the pain even worse. My advice is if you get that ask for an epidural as soon as you can have it
I was induced with pitcon cause my water broke and I was contracting. once they gave me the pitcon about 10 mins later contractions came and hurt like a MF had a pain med in my iv and then at 1am my contractions were right on top of each other which is super painful. they had to turn off my pitcon because of that. like @arielle said epidural is mandatory lol
