Anyone else have this problem?
My sister is one of my best friends, she has 4 children and I live in a small 2bed 600 or 700 square foot apartment. My fiancé works 3rd shift, so when she comes over with the kids, he's usually sleeping. I feel like we are all walking on eggshells the entire time, and its uncomfortable. Also, she'll come over when we're about to sit down for dinner unannounced. Its akward and I usually dont have enough food last min to feed her and 4 children, so ive had to tell her to leave. Ive been really busy the past week with work, getting ready for vacation, searching for a house to buy, so I haven't talked to her. I feel bad, she refused yo answer my calls yesterday, I wanted to see her and the kids before I left for vaca for a week. She finally texts me late last night telling me that she doesn't feel like shes part of our lives anymore and that she feels that my fiancé made it that way. I feel horrible I know he doesn't feel that way, its hard living in a tiny apartment where hes sleeping and we got 5 kids running around! So I tried explaining that I just bought a nice big house with plenty of room and a yard so she can come over, but she just doesn't feel welcome at all :( what do I say or do to fix it? shes not talking to me now!

She must not be married or live with a man she can call hers because if so first she wouldn't feel like that and second she wouldn't be popping up unannounced with 4kids . It's so easy for her to blame your spouse. Best friend/sister or not she should have the respect to respect . So don't feel bad at all that's not your wrong doing at all that's her inconsideration . Your man works comes home tired , sleep that's the last thing he want to hear is her and her kids . She sounds petty because instead of ignoring your text or calls she should've told you up front after all that is your best friend and sister.

@phasion, awwww you just made me cry! you're right! So why do I feel so bad about it? My fiancé moved in with me about 2 1/2 years ago and it hasn't seem to bother her until now. We're getting married in 3 weeks (omg!) and shes kindof started acting funny since she found out... Maybe she just feels like shes not going to be part of mine and my sons life anymore once we're married?

@cuety83, that could be the case. When I moved in with my boyfriend we needed his sisters room, (she doesn't live at his dad's mind you) well she got upset bc she felt like she was being replaced.

@cuety83, nooo like I said before that is your best friend your sister I don't think it had nothing to do with not being apart of your life because after all you did tell her that you moved in a big house and she could come over. To be honest how I'm reading it it looks like jealousy because this is the most exciting part of your life but yet she's acting funny why? It seems like you have everything together a baby on the way, nice big house, a man that loves you unconditionally and your sister well totally the opposite she may have some inner jealousy laying in her heart . That's how I'm reading it. Because my friend even though she's a single parent , always had baby daddy issues she was always excited for me and she would also say girl I wish I could find me a good man I am so happy for you... And that's what your sister should be saying at this time instead of acting funny .

@phasion, you're right, but she has an amazing man too and shes happy (at least I think). She helped me so much with her nephew while I worked two jobs and put myself through nursing school, she always seems so positive and supportive of me! When I told her we were looking for houses she kept saying I wont be invited to come over anyway, and id tell her of course you are! I don't know what happened, everything was fine until about a month ago she started acting like this! I just hope it blows over... Another odd thing, she keeps asking me if I'm sure I want to get married... Im thinking she feels like me getting married is like me moving away.. She is my little sister, im 5 years older and ive always been the "momma" maybe she feels like my fiancé is taking her sister away...

@cuety83, well definitely talk to her like a heart to heart conversation with her to know what's really going on. Because you both don't want to misunderstand one another .

I have this problem with my sister Steph I feel like your sister , I do not believe it's jealousy at all you have allot going on and she probably just feels left out a lil lately cuz you guys are so close all she needs to know is that you still love her and as soon as things settle down it will all go back to normal She just loves you and probably misses you , with everything going on buying houses just finishing school and starting a new career vacation baby getting married it's very easy to get side tracked and not spend as much time with someone and when u do seem distant cuz ur mind is everywhere right now I would send her a lil message and let her no nothing has changed ur just overwhelmed right now but as soon at it all settles into place it will all go back to normal just let her no she is needed no matter what and to please be understanding right now
