i need help. ok when i first saw my ob at 7 weeks 6 days they took my blood she told me to just do it so we can get it out of the way. i went back at 11 weeks 5 days and they did the pelvic exam but no blood work. my question is was the blood work they did to test to see if there is a possibility that baby miggt be born with down syndrome or any other disabilities?

you have to agree to that kind of test. i believe you need to sign paperwork

They won't test for that until a little later on.. The blood test was to check hcg levels and a couple other things.

The genetic testing isn't until later and they usually ask you if you want that.

i didnt do any of that or get asked to do any of that with my first and im going to the same drs. and everything i read said they do it in the forst trimester...im almost dont with this trimester.
