yes u can but they say to always turn the car seat around the back of it facing the front.

When my son was little we only had a two door truck and we used to pick him on the passage side with the airbags off.never had a problem,but we also never got pull over

If I'm remembering correctly I think I asked back then and they told me I just had to make sure the air bags were off but this was 10 years ago..good luck

I would definitely ask your local police and fire departments, they may have either advice to give you about where to place the seat in the truck or they may say that it is illegal in your city/county and since the advice is coming from your local authorities you know it is the correct answer.
