they don't call it land of the midnight sun for nothing. lol. ps. 4th of July sucks up there.

what time does it get dark, do you guys really have 30 days of straight night?

@babyethansmommy, depends. usually (for as long as I was there) it got dark around 1:30-2am. and no. no 30 days of straight night. though the shortest time between sunrise and sunset can be as few as 5 hours. and there's places where the sun doesn't set

omg wow that's crazy it kind of makes me want to go visit lol Ive always wanted to visit Alaska for some reason I love snow and cold it seems like a really beautiful place
