Why do we say we're pregnant for 9 months when 40 weeks equal 10 months?

@paradisemama, Only thing I can think of is full term is 9 months but that's it! And most babies are a little before or AFTER they're due date!

because one month has 4 weeks. the BEGINNING of your 9th month is at 36 weeks the end of the 9th month is 40 weeks.

Yeah that's the truth it really is 10 months I gave birth at 9 & my lil muffin was fine . It just sucks cause the last month is soooooo long

Because your 9th months starts at 36 weeks during that entire month baby can come ..... Not everyone go all 40weeks

Also, weeks 1 and 2 are prior to conception.

so since i only have 25 days lefts till my induction does that mean im 9 months prego now?
