i know a lot of people that have. i made a 3d ultrasound appointment the day before i turn 16 weeks and they said they should be able to tell me. 17 weeks to 20 weeks is the common time to find the sex of the baby

at 17 weeks you have a good enough chance. it depends on the way your baby is positioned.
