If you not in your 30s or 40s I wouldn't get it.

I get mine done at 19 weeks I think they do the one for down syndrome 16-20 weeks.

Unless you're in the high risk group (family history or age 35+) there's no reason to accept the test. its just more money for them.

@peanutsmommy1203, i don't recommend the screening. There's a possibility that the screening will be a false positive and will cause tons of stress until further analysis and testing. Been thru it

I got mine at 16 weeks (my mom had spina bifida) but it was horrible for me, came back 1:41 for Trisomy 18 and a level 2 ultrasound showed a normal baby, but I had to wait, stress and cry for 2 weeks before I knew for sure

I got mine done at 14 weeks, and it was just a normal ultrasound. I got it done because my husbands cousin has downs.

I got mine done at 14 weeks bc my husbands brother has downs. but I know a lot of people who have gotten false positives. But if anything looks abnormal they run more tests.

I got mine done at 18 weeks. I don't have anyone in my family that has downs, the only person that I have in My family that has something wrong with them is my little cousin that has autism but only related by marriage .

I had the test done around 12-13 weeks that's when the test order was for. All they did was draw 5-6 viles of blood and tested it and sent the results to my Dr which gave them to me at the monthly appointment
