Don't be scared!! It can be tough at times but you just need to trust yourself and get help with it when you need it! You can message me and i can help you as best I can! But a breastfeeding consultant or even some nurses are incredibly helpful! Once you get the hang of it it's easy! You save hundreds of dollars, it's convenient, the health benefits are never ending! It helps to prevent so many illnesses in both baby and you! Breast milk changes from minute to minute. They don't need anything other than food that your body creates specifically for your baby! When baby gets a cold antibodies will transfer from you to them! It helps to get your uterus back to size, helps you lose the pregnancy weight, helps your hormones regulate... And many more things! Research about the benefits of breastfeeding! It's amazing all the things it can do for you and your baby!

Breastfeeding is something I wouldn't ever want to give up but it was a struggle for me at times. Find yourself someone with experience breastfeeding(you can always message me) and get help when you need it! Use the nurses in the hospital to help you! The quicker you breastfeed the better for you and your baby. I started feeding my son around 10-20mins after birth. And bottle feeding can but not always make it harder, so if you can wait to use a bottle until you feel that you and baby have the hang of it do that! I took a free breastfeeding class and so happy I did. I learned a lot and love knowing that he's getting specially designed food that changes minute to minute based on what he needs!

Not if he's on right! But it is sore in the beginning... Definitely was frustrating and had to work at getting it right but incredibly happy I did :) @mommyof10627 to get a good latch you'll want to use your hand and hold your breast like a sandwich, and have your thumb and pointer finger lined up with babies mouth. And place your thumb closer to the top of your areola(the area surrounding the nipple) and point your nipple up towards the roof of the mouth(like you said) but you almost want it to touch their nose! And then bring baby to your bring and basically you bring baby up and over your nipple! If they are on properly it shouldn't be intensely painful and babies bottom should be pulled down(like a pout) and top lip shouldn't be caving in. @dianne0825

am I correct in saying you put the nipple at the top near the roof of the baby's mouth and they latch on that way????
