it's curable. it can harm the baby so you need to get on antibiotics ASAP. I struggled with MRSA from ages 8- 14 then I finally stopped getting infections. sometimes it doesn't go away forever. like if they swab my nose and test it-it comes back positive, but I haven't had an infection in 5 years and I've had 2 healthy pregnancies. make sure to wash your hands and sanitize EVERYTHING. MRSA can stay alive on a surface for 72 hours and do not touch any open wounds and don't pick your nose (that's where MRSA lives!)

I see MRSA in the hospital all the time. it is very serious & very contagious bc only certain antibiotics will treat it. you won't have it forever, but you will probably be put on isolation precautions when you are admitted to the hospital. it has to have been so many years since the infection for them to clear it off your record.
