it was horrible lol. & I was that person that wanted med free natural birth. it could not have gone any different than I wanted lol but its ok because me and my little girl are healthy and happy 😊
I didn't get iv meds I went straight for epi. I did 2 days and 17 hrs of unmedicated then gave up. I was exhausted from no sleep, no food, puking. it was a horrible experience. but I knew the iv meds would make things worse. I'm so glad I got the epi instead. I had to get a c section anyway, 9.7lb baby lol. she was bumping my cervix making it swell instead of dilate. but I remember everything clear as day!
@delilahsmommy2.22, I remember the iv meds they gave me with preterm, and agree with you!!!! those are crazy!!!!!! I felt like I was hot and kept hallucinating. I think it was called stadal????
just some advice, try your best BUT if you do decide to take meds go straight for the epi. because the iv meds make you loopy and you won't remember the birth as clear. the epi is just a spinal block so it won't mess with your cognitive function.
@parkers_mommy, you look small statured so it's very possible. and they used the suction cup on my boy. I think that's another reason I want to go natural with this one. Women who have a an epidural are desensitized as it is supose to be like that, but can cause the woman not to push as hard as they can which causes the need for forceps, suction cup, and vaccum.
with my first it wasn't that bad, with my second I forgot to breath. they say every pregnancy get harder. idk how true that is but my second one was terrible.. and dam if your braxton Hicks that strong just imagine real contractions
@qmy contractions with my son didnt.... but these braxton hicks I have with my daughter take my breath away, I felt like it was the weirdest thing in the world...
I had an epidural & it wore off so fast so my labor was completely natural.... I was telling everyone I couldn't do it & I wish I would've had the emergency c section but my son was also stuck under my pelvic bone & I think that made it a little worse. if you want to do it I say go for it, you can always change your mind at a certain point & get an epidural. my BF made me get one so I could sleep but it only lasted a couple hours 😫
The epidural that I was given after the first 6 hours of labor with my son stopped working around my underneath area when he was coming out. is it more painful to have the stretching feeling down there, or is the contractions more painful? What is your opinion?
I had a simular expirience, when I went to the hospital to have my labor induced with my son, they popped my water in the very beginning. and would not allow me out of bed so I had to lay there, 6 hours I was unmedicated. I feel like it will be a lot more bearable if I am allowed to move around my house for the beginning of labor instead of being bed bound like I was at the hospital. therefore, I plan to stay at home for the beginning of my labor, or until my water breaks
I have had one natural without a choice, and I'd say it was definitely painful, but I feel like if I can do it anyone can! But I also plan to go on medication this pregnancy, if that tells you anything. Lol
