So my mom keeps kind of dropping hints (not very subtly) that she's upset that she won't really get to see my child for the first few years of its life since I'm going to germany for 3+ years in july. Idk how to make her either be more okay with it or what to do. I got these orders before I found out I was pregnant.

@ngujen, that's what we did a lot when I was deployed and when I went to korea. I think it makes her more sad that it's her first grandkid and she'll see it when it's born, then again at nearly 6 months, and then again at a year and that's gonna be the pattern til it's like 3 and a half unless I deploy and then she gets the kid while I'm gone
