Yup. It happens. Sometimes the baby is too far away or is hiding somewhere.

I heard the heartbeat on the Doppler at 9 weeks which was my first appointment

yes I never heard mine until 10-12 weeks

yes with two of mine I had an appointment at 7 and 9 weeks and they couldn't hear it. at my next appt they could. with my other kids the doctor wouldn't even see me until about 10 weeks.

did you have an ultrasound at 7-9 or was it just with a doppler

doctor thinks i had a miscarriage because he couldn't find heart beat and baby was measuring at 8 weeks, but they assumed I am 11 weeks because of my last period but I don't think i got pregnant until just before my next period which would put me at about 8 weeks. @junebaby

I went at 6 weeks 4 days and heard it, then again at 9 weeks 1 day

I had a doppler

so it wasnt through an ultrasound when they werent able to find it @junebaby

no it wasnt. the earliest I had an ultrasound was 12 weeks except for the time I miscarried at 4 weeks.

Normally the baby's heart beat is not physically strong enough to hear until 8-10 weeks, but you can see it for sure on an ultra sound at 8 weeks. I personally never heard it until 10 but saw it at 8.
