I went to labor and delivery today and my contractions are labor ready but my cervix is closed. so…

I went to labor and delivery today and my contractions are labor ready but my cervix is closed. so they checked me and stuff and my contractions were 6 minutes apart even tho I couldn't feel most of them. now I feel every one of then and they are mostly 2 minutes apart. and they hurt so bad. but cervix is still closed. what's going on with me?
