Hi girls, any HYPOTHYROID expecting moms in the crowd? I'm a bit desperate for your advice... Been hypo before pregnancy and took my levothroxin pills (but it never really balanced my TSH). At about 5 weeks pregnant got tested and my TSH was a bit above 9. My doctor had increased my dosage and ended up tripling it by now. I'm almost at 18 weeks and my last TSH test showed 4.8 (it keeps jumping around 4.5 and going a bit up, despite the increase of my daily dosage. They also changed my prescription from Synthroid to a generic one about a month ago). Long story short they told me my TSH is high but I should just keep taking what I'm taking and repeat my blood test within a month.
I just feel it takes forever, each blood test is a month apart and not followed by any immediate adjustment. I'm concern that it can affect my developing baby...each day is sooo crucial and now I need to just wait a whole month knowing the thyroid issue is out of balance.
Can anybody share her hypothyroid management during the pregnancy?

@saramarie09 Thank you, hopefully everything will be OK. I'm just confused and disappointed to see that TSH going up even though I'm taking my pills regularly and my dose already increased up to 150 daily.

BTW my first ended in miscarriage because I didn't get to the doctor fast enough to have my levels checked and tweaked like necessary

My very first pregnancy I had the same issue I ended up with miscarriage, however my second they also put me on higher dosage and my numbers were higher but with all the pregnancy hormones ended up balancing out.. Thank gosh I stayed on that higher dosage for awhile after birth then went back down to my normal... Basically I was told pregnancy will cause your numbers to lower generally and that is why they usually up the dosage. I was take 100mg during my pregnancy and now I only have to take 25mg...so stick in there it will be good you doctor sounds like he knows what to do.
