Find some easy projects and just get started.

I had my mom explain everything to me! How to use it. I think played around on you tube, an started with just burp rags. I also do other things with it now. An I do enjoy it. Play around on pinterest as well

I spent hours figuring mine out!! Ugh. So, once you get your bobbin loaded with thread and you thread the top, you can get started with making seeing lines on fabric. Sometimes fabrics need tighter or looser stitching by adjusting the tension number on the dial. I just made some bibs and they were simple and fun and good practice!! You upcycle some old Tshirts or button-ups! Look at the blog alittletipsy.com for a bib diy!

@earthmama, this is the one I have. I purchased it over 3 years ago when I had more space an was more relaxed. I bought it right before I moved. I did let my mom use it for a little but I haven't really used it myself. Gonna try today or tomorrow.
