OPINIONS ARE WELCOME: Okay, so my boyfriend has a three and a half year old son with another woman. Unfortunately his name never made it onto the birth certificate and because of this I haven't been able to announce publicly that we are expecting our first child together. The reason we haven't is because we are afraid that she might try to keep him from us when she finds out. I am just so over it though this is my first child and feel like she is ruining the excitement for me. It just doesn't seem fair at all.. maybe I am just being selfish though.

why are you guys planning around her. do you boo! if she wants to be immature the one that will suffer the most is his the 3 yr old. don't ruin your experience because of something someone might do or not do.

I think I would be shitty too!! But isn't it as simple as getting the paternity test to prove it? Therefore no matter what you announce it can't effect the outcome?

@mrsmommy my mother in law had me message her telling her that we wanted her to know before the rest of the world knew. I just still feel like its bologna that I have to cater to her and everything she wants.

Its pretty complicated because there is a chance his son actually isn't his, but he stepped up to the plate and took on the role of being his father when he was just a baby.

So this is usually a pretty simple fix. First of all ENJOY YOUR PREGNANCY! Announce it. Flaunt it. Talk about it. You deserve it. Now as fast as him not seeing his current child. Legally she can't do that! If she does, I know court can be costly. But since he is not on the BC, the lawyer will do a paternity test. Determine he's the father. Than him and the mother. If she can be civil for an hour. Will save a ton of money by going I mediation. There they will discuss custody. And who gets the child on what days/ holidays. From that point out. If they can't come to an agreement. A judge will create a visitation schedule for them. And if at any point that schedule is broken and she tries to hide the child. He can then sue for full custody and she will face huge fines. Owe her life in child support and end up in prison!
