Any one else have a hard time waking baby up to breastfeed? Mine just wants to sleep! Help!
@lajo Im glad to hear that putting formula drops on his mouth helped. I sure know how stressful it is when ur baby dont eat enough and its difficult to wake them up. I remember with my first that he would sleep 3-4hours straight and wouldnt eat enough. When he was 4days old the nurse made the most stupid comment like "I wonder if its good idea to leave the baby alone with u since he hasnt gained the amount that he suppose to".I remember starting to cry. I was so sad she said that. It was my first baby and no one had told me I have to feed him every two hours. I was traumatized from her idiotic comment for long time and would almost try to force my son to eat even when he was 2-4years. And it sure didnt make it better. Cuz the more I tried the less he ate.
@kay80 that's a good idea, thanks. The night I brought him home he slept for like 4 hrs straight and hadn't eaten for like 3 hrs prior to him falling asleep at the hospital. They were in a rush to get him tested and released that it gave us no time to feed. So later that night I was freaking outna little. I called my doc and she said to put a drop or two of formula on his mouth to wake him up. It sure did work and he nursed no prob after that.
His nurse at hospital would press the sole of his foot hard. It kinda irritate him and he would wake up
@sgomez0606 yes did that and even tried baby wipe on face and back... He's alert but won't wake enough to feed.
@kay80 that's def not something you tell a new mommy, instead you should educate them. Glad we can relate!
