Hello ladies, I would like some advice. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I tried to claim income support, but I just had a letter said I'm not entitled for it because I'm a person from abroad. I'm living here 4 years ago now and the baby's father is English. I have no idea what to do now. I'm really running out of my savings and facing homeless.

Is there nothing the father can do to help you? Perhaps make up the short fall in maintenance to the child. Are you not entitled to any benefits? If you are facing homelessness with a baby your local council may be able to home you in a mother and baby unit? I'm English but with my first ds1 from my first partner I was facing homelessness I stayed with a friend for a bit until baby was born and then she evicted me so was facing it again. Went to my local council and they put me in a mother and baby hostel for 8months by then I was back at work had support and was able to save for a private landlord flat on my own I did get housing top up. But as a single parent I worked 24hrs a week and paid childcare it was tough but managed for 6years until I met my hubby. There is loads of advice out there it's just finding the correct places have you tried citizens advice bureau? Your local council? Also it may be because baby isn't born yet that you aren't entitled as I wasn't entitled to any housing benefit etc until baby had arrived????
