But its different for everyone. I would say you can start taking them 2 days before your period up to the week it's late. If it's up to 2 weeks late with no positive ask a doctor. but because everyone has a different cycle it can fall anywhere in that time

I believe it's a week after your first missed period. May be a little less than a week
