Have any of you mamas done skin to skin from the moment of your babies birth for about the first hour and not let them take the baby right away!? If so- did you have to force the doctor to leave baby. Or were they okay with it?

They have to do test on them when they come out so they wouldn't let you have them no longer than a minute

My hospital encourages immediate skin to skin for at least the first hour

I did. They handed him to me and waited about an hour then my husband got him and I had to try to pee and then they let my dad and mother in law come in and that's when they weighed him and stuff then have him back. He never left the room

unless there are complications during pregnancy and they cry and are breathing they won't do any tests on baby

i had my baby for over an hour before i let them take my baby they checked her vitals while she was on my chest and they had no problems with it

@zaydenmomma, @junebaby @jstrong12712 @californiahaley @babygirl10-11 awesome ladies thank you for all of your feedback! And of course as long as babys vitals are okay and baby is breathing fine, I want to do skin to skin for at least an hour. And then they can get babys weight and ect! I've just read so much about the first hour being so crucial to your baby and to do skin to skin of at all possible! I also ready about waiting until the cord stops pulsing to cut it! Did any of you do that!? Or did you let them cut it right away. If you waited, about how long did it take for it to stop pulsing!?

I'm waiting to let them cut it, it can take I think between 2-10min

I did delayed cord clamping. Unless you're banking the blood it's so much better for baby to have it. There's a reason the do banking cause it's so important why would you not want baby to have that

Yea. I'm torn between the 2. I heard the the cord blood banking is really expensive tho. And I won't really have the kinda money to do that. So I'll definitely want to do the delayed cord clamping! @californiahaley @jstrong12712

@awn0710, it's about $5000 to do it then an additional monthly payment to keep it banked. My sister did it with her first.
