Can anyone educate me a little on gestational diabetes I have no idea about it or even regular diabetes and now I have gestational and I don't know what to do or anything waiting on another test to come back positive and then to a nutritionist but still would like to know about it and how it can affect me and my baby long term and can I have any sugars at all or

you have to monitor your blood sugar & what you eat. diabetes can cause you to have a bigger baby so you could end up having to deliver earlier than you're due date. check out webmd & mayoclinic online for more information. also ask your doc for a pamphlet on it (:

Well everyone is saying I'll have a bigger baby but I have a super small baby he is measuring two weeks less then his due date

@tlc82995, You can have a big baby but if you control everything you want. My doctor sent me to class since I have gestational diabetes and they showed me how to check my blood sugar, gave me a list of things I can and cannot eat. You also need to watch your carb intake. If you like I can email you everything they gave me

@parkers_mommy, I was afraid my baby was already big but by the grace of God my baby is the weight he/she should be for 20 weeks. Hopefully they monitor her more like my doctors are doing me. They sent me to a diabetes place and I see the maternal fetal ppl as well for All of my ultrasounds.

@babydavis915, I know it's not true for everyone but it's best for her to know that is possible then to be surprised later on. I'm surprised her doctor didn't give her any info about it. I don't have it, my mom just works at an obgyn as a nurse/scribe so I asked her for info when I took the test to just be prepared.(:
