im just wondering if anyone else husbands, bf's, partners etc, are having a hard time excepting the fact that they are becoming a parent. my husband says hes excited but doesnt show it. it worries me.

My husband was like that, but as soon as Gavin was born he was the best father I could ask for my son. He wanted to do everything we'll except change dirty diapers. & now were expecting baby # 2 & he is acting excited this time around. He probably can't believe he's going to be a dad especially if it wasn't planned but that doesn't mean he isn't going to be happy once the baby gets here.

he says hes excited. he just does not prove it. he rather be spending money on himself then preparing for his son.

I think it's hard for them to process. It's a man's job to support and protect his family, so he may just be nervous. My bf was like that and it instantly changed when he saw her born!

how far along are you my husband has changed the further along i get at first he acted that way now once in a while he does but as soon as i get an ultra sound or a dr apt hes all about the baby :P

my boyfriend would sometimes be excited and happy about it and other times its like he really didn't care about becoming a father. But once he seen her born at the hospital you could tell he was happy and loved her unconditionally. Our daughter is 8 months and he couldn't be happier to have his daughter

@taylorpb13, don't worry mine acts extremely excited sometimes and then others when it comes to picking something out (because i try very hard to include him in every little thing so he feels like a new dad) he could careless and seems annoyed. I have been told countless times we become mommies when we conceive and see that sonogram screen and they become fathers when they see and hold their babies. It's not real until then to them. You are not alone mama at all! I wanna strangle mine sometimes with his lack of enthusiasm about things haha. I've learned to just pick things out and he won't care either way. Just keep trying to include him though he will be thankful after I promise.
