I think most doctors will only do it if they think there is an issue that can harm you or baby and if there you're past your due date. my doctor set an induction about 5 days after my due date but he swept my membranes at 39+3 so i went into labor that night.
@sunshinelovesu, ya I think they only do it for medical reasons. But I got my membranes swept and it sent me into labor just like @iloveni0820 so maybe you could ask for that at like 39 weeks
