I've seen moms put baby cereal in their babies milk in the bottle...when I was younger I never felt…

I've heard for people doing both. I personally won't be using it just because it's not nutritional anyways. but some doctors say it's okay to put in a bottle.

@parkers_mommy, it's not..I really thought it was since it was for babies..could you relate it to junk food ? ..and I will pass on baby cereal too if it's not beneficial to my child's health...

Most mothers only put it in their milk to thicken it up due to the acid reflux. It helps keep the milk down.

@mmmirage, I had no idea of that either...but does it make babies sleep longer too ?? If so I know plenty of moms who did it for that reason as well..is that why doctors suggest to put a little amount in a baby's milk ??

@amg2469, in my practice, doctors recommend it because of gerds which is the acid reflux issue but it's not clinically proven to help a baby sleep. It does make the baby feel a bit more full since it thickens milk so that can help but depends on the baby. If the baby is already eating solid foods, it shouldn't make a significant difference

I have to put a teaspoon in my baby's bottle to thicken her formula. she has severe gastro esophageal reflux disease, she has to be on a special formula as well. she can't even sleep flat like normal babies. Not everyone does is to put their babies to sleep or just for fun.. some of us have no choice
